Anaerobic adhesives are a convenient and effective solution to many assembly applications. These type of adhesives will only cure when in contact with metals and are devoid of air.
Threebond 1386B for instance, is a specialised welch plug adhesive that unlike other types of adhesives/sealants used for this application, any excess that may make it’s way into water jackets will not cure due to the anaerobic cure of 1386B.
